Our solution is used extensively in the pre-event planning phase, where security personnel or first responders evaluate the threat against an upcoming event to build-up what-if scenarios to plan responses to potential incidents. The software allows a dynamic planning that can be updated, whenever new threats are identified or plans are changed.
The planning phase also includes identifying and preparing the available sensors, planning the optimum sensor placement based on the type of event and the likely weather conditions and testing the entire setup.
At the recent Champions League football final in Wales, Gwent Police used the software in the planning phase to play through the scenarios that could unfold throughout the period from the players arrived in the area until the match was over and they were returning safely home.
When entering the monitoring phase, our solution enhances the situation awareness by providing an overview of the sensor status and giving notifications in case of malfunction or maintenance needs.
An immediate alarm is given to the operator in case of a potential new hazard and Bruhn NewTech’s solution provides a real-time overview of the areas at risk.
In case of a hazard, the system will provide decision support based on the pre-planned what-if scenarios to speed up the process of determining who is at risk, how to handle evacuation, if required and how to coordinate with other authorities like police, first responders, etc.
Other decisions might also be required based on the current situation picture, like the need for moving sensors to other positions to get an even better picture of the situation.
Once the decisions are made, the protective actions must be quickly and unambiguously set into force. This requires seamless communication with other involved parties for example from venue security personnel to the emergency services. The solution ensures precise communication of the current situation without the loss of information that happens when using voice communication. If the national defence forces are taking part in the response they can also be linked seamlessly into the situational picture as our solution supports the required military communication formats.
The situation overview is constantly updated based on the automatic sensor data retrieval and other information from personnel on the ground.
It is easy to constantly evaluate the effect of the protective actions compared to the current situation picture e.g. to find indication of deviations from the expected picture and make changes to the current protective actions, if required.
All information gathered during the incident are stored to preserve evidence from the event to assist future evaluation, if required.
The preserved information can also be used for lessons learned to improve or update the pre-planned what-if scenarios for future events.
Our software solutions are used by some of the most demanding users in extreme conditions. It has withstood the trial by fire in real operations and protected against real hazards. When chemical weapons were removed from Syria in 2015 and from Libya in 2016, our software was operational onboard the naval task forces ensuring the safe removal of these lethal weapons.
